Dr Nadkarni believes that the healthcare industry could work
wonders if due attention is given to Quality Systems in
Hospitals.
Dr Nadkarni completed his MBBS in 1980, DGO and MD in 1984
and has been a Lead Assessor / Auditor for ISO 9000 Quality
Systems. Dr Nadkarni has over 25 years experience in Medical
service, Education as well as in Quality Systems Audit and
Assessments. During the last couple of years, Dr Nadkarni
has handled projects such as the Assessment of the
Gandhinagar District Hospital, Ahmedabad for ISO 9000
Quality Systems, Assessment of the Dr Balabhai Nanavati
Hospital for readiness for ISO 9000 certification,
assessment of the Bombay City Eye Institute for ISO
certification as also the assessment and accreditation of
Healthcare units empanelled with GIPSA (General Insurer’s
Public Sector Association) numbering over 2000 spread all
over India. GIPSA services more than 80% of the Health
Insurance Market in India.
Additionally, Dr Nadkarni has been involved in the World
Bank funded Maharashtra State Health Systems Development
Project for development of Clinical Quality Indicators to be
made applicable to all hospitals and primary healthcare
units under Health Dept., Maharashtra State.
Dr Nadkarni has been a faculty at various organisations
including The All India Institute of Local Self Government,
Mumbai University’s Garware Institute, National Centre for
Quality Management, the Indian Institute for Healthcare
Management and Research, Jaipur and Symbiosys Institute for
Health Sciences, Pune.
