Dr Mhatre is passionate about the role of ICT in Healthcare
with special emphasis on Electronic Health Records. He has
played a key role in evolving the
21st
Century
EMR model in its early stages. Besides his in-depth
knowledge of medical practices world wide, Dr Mhatre is a
certified CMM assessor from Carnegie Mellon University USA
and a disciplinarian in matters of hospital management.
During his 14-years experience with the Sultan of Oman’s
Armed Forces, Dr Mhatre was decorated with six army medals
for distinguished service. Dr Mhatre was responsible for the
total computerization of Armed Forces Medical Services. This
included Feasibility Study, defining Statement of
Requirements, Selection of vendors and overseeing
implementation. The project worth over USD 5 million
consisted of integrated computerization of the 3 major
hospitals and more than 50 medical clinics spread across
Oman.
Dr Suhas Mhatre completed his MBBS in 1976 and his MD
(Internal Medicine) in 1980. Dr Suhas Mhatre has over 26
years of experience in Medical Service, Medical
Administration and General and IT Administration. Dr Suhas
Mhatre has over 6 years clinical as well as medical teaching
experience in India.
